Supreme Court justices are supposed to live by higher standards than every other judge in our court system. Just because we do not have a specific law that includes justices in ethical laws that exist for judges, it is still implied.
The reason that justices are given lifetime appointments is because we did not want the same corruption that occurs in our lower representatives that need to worry about getting re-elected. Campaign contributions are unnecessary for them for a reason. We expect them to understand they are not supposed to be placing themselves in any conflicts of interest, or accepting money or items of value that can be conceived as bribes from any individual, company or corporation.
They should not ever accept gifts from anyone just in case they end up with a case in their court later.
Justice Thomas has already had problems accepting lavish gifts, getting involved in political fundraisers, he had a problem with undisclosed income and worst of all, had conflicts of interest that he did not reveal and ruled on the cases when he should of removed himself from them altogether. His family may have even had a stake in the highly controversial "Citizens United" case.
Justice Thomas should resign or be removed from the supreme court and all the cases that he ruled on should be overturned. There have been other justices removed for far less than that. We need to put America back on the path of fair trials, get Supreme Court justices, senators and congressman that can be bought and throw the bums out!!!
